Be Still and Know


Finished!  Yea!  I got some good critiques from my mentor, and most of it revolved around pushing values and details.  The good news is that most of his advice were things I was already attempting to do on my own, but I just didn’t take it far enough.  So that means I’ve learned something somewhere. :)

The next assignment is to paint a still life everyday for two weeks.  This should be fun. 

And, for those of you learning to draw that think still life work would be boring, I have to say that you should give it a try.  It really allows you to focus on form and composition in a way that you may not be able to with more complex subjects.  I’m pretty confident that it would boost your skills.
