I was playing a game called Dragon Age: Awakenings, and in the Dragon Age world, Mages are basically discriminated against because people fear their power. Well anyway, one of the mages in my party said,
“I just want a pretty girl, a decent place to eat, and the right to shoot lightening at fools.”
haha! That made me laugh. I wouldn’t mind the right to shoot lightening at fools. I have a few people on my list that could use a good zap.
My sister and I were planning to visit my step-grandma for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, we won’t have the chance because she passed away this week. Just another reminder that our days are numbered, and we really don’t know when it’s our time to go.
I can’t help but wonder what a dying person’s last few thoughts and feelings are. My dad said that she kept saying all day that she didn’t think she would make it until Thanksgiving, so she new her time was coming. Sadly, I hear my grandpa say the same thing. He always says that he doesn’t think he will be around much longer. I wonder what that feels like, to know death is near.
Drawn something you worked hard on, felt rather proud of, then in the end, feel reluctant to show anyone or post it? That’s weird…I have something like that now…I work hard hoping everyone will like it…but now I don’t even wanna put it up! 0_o whattttt? I woulda thunk I’d be so happy with how it turned out that I’d wanna share it, so why do I not? so odd…OTL
I think sometimes art is just personal, and it is nice to keep some things for ourselves. I have lots of art (actually almost all of my art), that I have no problem uploading to my blog, but almost never show my family and friends. I don’t always know why, but it kind of feels like sharing a diary for me. Even if the drawing is just a simple portrait, I don’t like sharing it with everyone.
This is of course something I’m trying to learn to be more comfortable with. Art obviously is meant to be seen. But, I’m sure I’ll always have drawings that I won’t show family and friends.
Also, I think sometimes after working hard on a picture and feeling really good about it, I just don’t want to hear comments from other people. It’s nice just to be happy with it because I enjoyed it, rather than worrying about what other people think.
